A sealant to prevent a first cavity is better than the smallest of fillings. If that can’t be done, a tiny filling performed using air abrasion is better than a larger filling done using a drill.
A filling is better than a crown, because a crown requires drilling your tooth down to a stub. Once we remove this precious tooth structure you can never get it back! Then, after so much drilling, the tooth may become so irritated that the nerve mayl die and need a root canal.This is still better than removing your entire tooth.
